Kirk Baierlein
With over 15 years of experience in the collector services and auction industry, Kirk Baierlein has been afforded the opportunity to work with some of the most prominent wine collections in the world. Over that timeframe, he has managed, inventoried, priced, liquidated and cataloged hundreds of thousands of bottles of fine & rare wine.
Initially, Kirk studied all aspects of the wine industry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and ultimately focused his interests on the fine & rare wine niche of the market. As one of the early stage employees at Vintrust Wine Management & Cellarage, Kirk helped manage their proprietary database and cellar management system as well as personally managed inventorying projects for wine collections as large as 50,000+ bottles in size.
From there Kirk soon became the General Manager for their entire private collector services division, placing him in charge of properly managing over 500,000 bottles of fine and rare wine worth tens of millions of dollars in its Napa and NYC area locations and servicing some of the most important collections in the U.S. It was there that Kirk worked with clients doing analysis of their holdings for proper recommendations of acquisition and liquidation strategies.
Kirk utilized his expertise in full-service collection management to work within both the auction industry and at an independent wine advisory firm to assist clients in managing and liquidating their collections.
Kirk then led the Business Development efforts at Vinfolio’s Wine Storage Division, and ultimately, now brings his combined decades' worth of collector services, auction, and business development experience to his own firm and advise his clients in all aspects of wine collection management through KHB Fine Wine Consulting.
